Brant JollyBrant Jolly is the champion of the latest World Series of Poker Circuit main event. He outlasted a field of 668 entries in the 2023 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, earning $196,842 and his second career WSOPC gold ring for the win.

Jolly’s first ring victory came last December when he took down a $2,200 buy-in event at the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee stop for $70,393.

The Fayetteville, Arkansas resident now has nearly $590,000 in recorded tournament earnings, with $458,000 of that coming from his 16 in-the-money finishes on the WSOP Circuit.

“It feels great,” Jolly told Poker.org reporters covering the event. “This is like my seventh or eighth main event and it feels good to lock one up.”

This event featured a $1 million guarantee which was cleared by more than $42,000 thanks to the 668 entries made across the three starting flights held at Horseshoe Hammond on the Indiana-Illinois border near Chicago.

The top 104 finishers made the money, with the bubble bursting early on day 2. By the start of the final day, just seven players remained with Jolly in the lead. There were three eliminations in the first hour, with Jolly scoring his first knockout of the day with K-Q besting the A-10 of Sung Kim (5th – $50,363).

Jolly began to pull away from the rest of the field late in short-handed action. Ben Grise knocked out Hussain Sajwani (3rd – $89,632) to set up the heads-up showdown for the title, which ended up lasting just a few hands. The chips all got in on a QSpade Suit3Spade Suit2Heart Suit flop with Jolly holding KSpade SuitKHeart Suit for an overpair and Grise 3Club Suit2Club Suit for threes and deuces. The QHeart Suit on the turn gave Jolly a higher two pair, though, and the JHeart Suit on the river kept him ahead to secure the pot and the title. Grise earned $121,651 as the runner-up.
