By the time the final table was set, Seth Gottlieb had seized the lead while Holz sat in fourth chip position among the remaining nine contenders. Gottlieb pulled even further away when he knocked out bracelet winner Pieter Aerts (9th – $81,000) on the first hand of the final table. Holz’s then pocket tens bested the K-9 of Ken Tong (8th – $98,000) to narrow the field to seven.

Josh Mccully was the next to fall, with two-time bracelet winner Nick Petrangelo sending him packing in seventh place ($134,000).
