The Card Player Poker Tour returns to bestbet Jacksonville, this August for a nine-event tournament festival. This marks the 11th time that the tour has joined forces with the home of Florida’s largest poker room to put on a series.
The 2024 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville stop runs from Aug. 15-26, with the centerpiece of the whole affair being the $300,000 guaranteed $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em mystery bounty main event set for Aug. 22-26. The event features three starting flights, each beginning at noon local time on Aug. 22-24. Players begin with 30,000 in chips and 40-minute blind levels.
“We’re very excited for the Card Player Poker Tour’s return,” said Director of Poker Operations Jesse Hollander. “The Mystery Bounty Main Event is a real crowd-pleaser. It’s a ton of fun to livestream a feature table all day on Day 2 and watch players open their Mystery envelopes. There’s a great energy in the room, with everyone riding the highs and lows together as each envelope is opened. It really brings everyone together.”
The mystery bounty main event is one of three tournaments to be livestreamed on bestbetLIVE, the card room’s popular YouTube channel that hosts tournament and cash game action. The final table of the $100,000 guaranteed $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em kickoff event will also be broadcast on Aug. 18, while the $300 buy-in ladies event will stream on Aug. 21.
The 2023 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville stop, held last August, also featured a $1,700 mystery bounty tournament as the main event.
Heng Zhang emerged victorious from a field of 357 entries, earning $74,010 from the main prize pool and $51,000 from nine mystery bounty payouts, bringing his total haul for the event to $125,010. Among the nine bounties he snagged was the second-largest that was up for grabs: a $25,000 payout.
This was Zhang’s second CPPT bestbet Jacksonville main event final-table finish, having also placed third in the 2015 running for $69,252.
