The 2024 World Series of Poker $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event will be at least the second-largest ever held, with organizers announcing that the field has already unofficially surpassed 9,000 entries just a few levels in day 1D.

Registration remains open through the end of level 7, which means players can still buy-in on day 1D or during the first two levels of play on either Day 2ABC or Day 2D, which means that late-reg is possible up until roughly 4:40 PM on Monday, July 8.
The standing field size record for this tournament sits at 10,043 entries, which was set last year after the WSOP explicitly set out to outdo the 8,773 mark that was set in 2006, when Jamie Gold won the championship bracelet and a $12,000,000 top prize. The 2023 WSOP main event saw Daniel Weinman come away with the title and $12,100,000, giving him the honor of securing the largest payout in main event history while earning his second career bracelet.
There were unofficially 4,275 entries made across the first three starting flights this year, with 916 on Day 1A, 831 on Day 1B and 2,528 on Day 1C. At the time this article was posted, Day 1D had already attracted more than 4,750 to see the total surpass 9,000 entries. The record for a single starting flight turnout is 4,879, which was set on Day 1C back in 2019.
With $9,300 from each buy-in going into the prize pool, the prize pool now (unofficially) approaches $84 million, with that number set to grow considerably with late registration still available for quite a while.
