Four-time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen came into day 6 of the 2024 World Series of Poker main event as one of just four female players among the 160 remaining contenders from a record field of 10,112 entries.
Foxen entered the day with 5,400,000, which was good for 38th on the leaderboard after the completion of day 5 action.
Day 6 has not gone well for Foxen so far, though. Late in the first level of the day, Bradley Mercer opened to 175,000 with K
K
from under the gun with the blinds at 40,000-80,000 with a big-blind ante of 80,000.
Foxen three bet to 500,000 from the cutoff with AK
off of a 5,330,000 stack. It folded around to Mercer who moved all-in for 2,655,000 total. Foxen called and found herself with just a 30 percent chance of winning the pot according to Card Player’ Poker Odds Calculator.
Both players invoked their ‘one time’ before the board was dealt.

6 and Foxen surged ahead, leaving Mercer with just a 4 percent chance of doubling up.
The K rolled off on the turn, turning the tables once again. After the case king showed up, it was Foxen who needed help. Only an ace on the river would earn her the knockout. The 2 appeared on the end instead and Mercer took down the 5,510,000 pot. The four-time WSOP Circuit ring winner is now well positioned to add to his $824,536 in prior career tournament earnings.
“I guess his one time was stronger than her one time,” said PokerGO commentator Maria Ho, who finished 446th in this event just a day earlier.
Foxen was left with 2,675,000 after the hand. The all-time female bracelet leader will still have nearly 27 big blinds to work with, with players taking a short break after the hand before returning to blinds of 50,000-100,000 with a big blind ante of 100,000 for level 27. Foxen has $8,414,048 in career cashes to her name already, and will add at least $85,000 by surviving to the top 134.
