The 2024 Summer Poker Series at Resorts World Las Vegas is nearing its final stretch. The festival runs from June 6 – July 22, with with more than $900,000 in total guarantees across its 82 events.

Event #59 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
With 120 entries, event no. 59 easily surpassed its $10,000 guarantee to build a final prize pool of $34,650. The top 21 finishes made the money, with Cory Soden walking away with the title and the top prize of $6,926.
This was the first recorded tournament score so far for Soden, who is based out of Las Vegas.
Mario De Souza recorded his fourth cash of the series, placing tenth for $735. He previously won a $5,000 guarantee event and made two other final tables during this festival, bringing his haul to $6,281.

Event #60 – $5,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
The July 9 evening event attracted 130 entries to more than quadruple its $5,000 guarantee. The $21,450 in prize money was paid out among the top 15 finishers, with Christian Calcano earning $6,009 as the eventual champion.
Calcano, who hails from New York, now has more than $161,000 in lifetime tournament earnings. This was his second career title, with his first coming in a $500 buy-in event at the Borgata Spring Poker Open earlier this year.
Chrysi Phiniotis earned $3,714 as the runner-up in this event.

Event #61 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
From the 132 that entered, only one could walk away a champion in this $10,000 guaranteed $200 buy-in tournament. That player was Cesar Gonzalez, who earned $4,041 for the win.
This was the first recorded title for Gonzalez, who now has nearly $12,000 in lifetime cashes to his name.
The $21,780 prize pool for this event was paid out amongst the top 15 finishers, with four-figure scores for the final six.

Event #62 – $5,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
Hemal Panchmatza emerged victorious from a field of 151 entries in event no. 62, earning $5,000 and his first live tournament title.
The UK resident’s only prior recorded score came in a $600 buy-in event here in Las Vegas back in 2016. He finished 17th for $1,010.
18 players cashed in this event, which nearly quadrupled its $5,000 guarantee with $24,915.

Event #63 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
Terry Morales triumphed in event no. 63, besting the 129-entry field to capture the title and the $3,821 top prize. This event was apparently concluded via a multi-way deal, with the top four finishers all earning at least $3,059.
This was the fifth career win for Morales, who hails from West Springfield, Massachusetts. He now has $173,652 in lifetime earnings, including a World Series of Poker Circuit ring that he won last year at Choctaw Durant.
The $21,285 prize pool went to the top 15 finishers. Felipe Silva recorded his third cash of this series in a four-day span, placing sixth for $1,024.

Event #64 – $5,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
France’s Eric Chevalot came out on top in the next $5,000 guaranteed event, overcoming a field of 114 entries to earn the title and the top prize of $3,725 via an apparent deal at the end of the event.
Runner-up Matthew Betti also earned $3,723, while Victor Wan took home $3,724 as the third-place finisher.
The top 12 cashed in this event to take a piece of the $18,810 final prize pool.

Event #65 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
The penultimate event covered in this recap saw 106 entries post the 4200 buy-in to create a $17,490 prize pool. Dallas, Texas’ Lynn Samples came away with the win, earning $5,111 and the title.
This was the 10th career victory for Samples, who now has more than $304,000 in career cashes under her belt. She also has a WSOP Circuit ring, having won the ladies event at the WSOPC Choctaw stop back in 2017.
Eric Tse earned $3,169 as the runner-up. The top 12 cashed this time around.

Event #66 – $5,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em Event
Sabastian Zalazar nabbed the title and the top prize of $2,601 in event no. 66, besting a field of 47 entries on his way to victory.
This was just the second recorded score for Zalazar, who is based out of Las Vegas.
He was one of five players to cash in the this event.
