The 2024 Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em mystery bounty main event attracted a total of 440 entries across three starting flights, easily surpassing the $300,000 guarantee to build a final prize pool of $662,200.

While $442,200 of that prize money went into the main prize pool, $220,000 was set aside for the bounties which are to be awarded on day 2. Those which will range anywhere from $500 all the way up to $50,000.

Following the completion of day 1C, there are now 55 players remaining in the event, each of whom has officially made the money. They will all earn at least $1,765 for their efforts, with $87,820 going to the eventual champion. There were slated to be 57 players heading to day 2 based on the turnout, but two players managed to bag twice: Jessica Cai and Jose Reyes. They have both locked up a min-cash and a bounty pull for their shorter stacks, which will be taken out of play.

Cai, who finished fifth in the 2021 CPPT main event here in Jacksonville, will enter day 2 in 15th chip position with 316,000. She will be joined by her husband Zhen Cai (198,000), who finished sixth in the 2019 World Series of Poker main event. Incredibly, the Cai’s are not the only couple to move on to day 2, as both Angel (331,000) and Toby Boas (259,000) are among the remaining contenders.

Kennie GarrisonDay 1C drew 241 entries, blowing away the 124 made on day 1B and 75 of day 1A. The chip leader at the end of day 1C is Kennie Garrison with 909,000. The 8Diamond Suit3Spade Suit2Club SuitAClub Suit10Club Suit runout saw O’Neal knocked out on the bubble, while Garrison bagged up by far the largest stack of any player in the field.

Three of the top five stacks heading into day 2 came from the 1C flight, with Joshua Adcock (646,000) and Bryan Bennett (548,000) joining Garrison.
