EPT Dublin Day One (A) RecapQuality Not Quantity Order of the Day at PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Dublin |

A smaller-than-anticipated field took to the felt on day one (A) at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour in Dublin, yesterday. Ninety-one players paid the €7,700 buy-in (with €300 registration fee) to play in the atmospheric Industry Hall at RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin.
As a result of the small field, the starting stack was upped to €15,000 and the blinds began at €25-€50. The quality of the field was remarkable with Andy Black, Rob Hollink, Barny Boatman, Dave Colclough, Erik Seidel, Pascal Perrault, Johan Storakers, Noah Boeken, Martin Wendt, Dario Minieri and Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier all in attendance.
The latter two would not make it through to day two, but Black and Colclough would finish among the chip leaders. Former Irish Open runner-up Ian Woodley claimed the scalp of Boatman early in the shift; Len Collin took a hit early on when his set ran into a straight, but soon afterwards, another set of his held up and he reclaimed his chips; and former EPT-winner Perrault then fell at the hands of Black.
The top 10 in chips going into day two are:
Mike McDonald (Canada) - €67,250
Dave Colclough (UK) - €59,350
Phidias Georgiou (Cyprus -- PokerStars qualifier) - €55,475
Kristian Kjøndaln (Norway) - €53,150
Jacques Zaicik (France -- PokerStars qualifier) - €48,225
Andrew Black (Ireland) - €45,675
Simon Christensson (Sweden -- PokerStars qualifier) - €45,000
Christoffer Egemo Hansen (Denmark) - €43,050
Kevin Vreeswijk (Holland) - €42,725
Marcel Baran (Germany) - €40,150
Day one (B) begins today at 2 p.m. GMT, and with at least 130 players registered, the total field will come in around the 220- mark, creating a prize pool of around €1.7 million.
