PokerStars Sunday Million

The monthly $500 buy-in version of the PokerStars Sunday Million had 2,704 entrants last night, meaning the players were vying for a piece of a $1,352,000 prize pool. The first-place finisher was looking at having $249,000 more in his PokerStars account than when he started the tournament.

After 2,702 players had been sent railward, it was just Tommy2tyme and G0T T!LT? left standing. Tommy2tyme is notable for having taken down the $100,000-guaranteed tournament on Bodog at the beginning of this month, earning $25,000. G0T T!LT? is notable, as well, as this was not his first final-table appearance in the Sunday Million. He got a brief glimpse of the final table just last week when he finished in ninth place ($8,229), making for an incredible back-to-back final tables in the event.

G0T T!LT? eventually did this week what he narrowly failed to do last week when he bested Tommy2tyme to take down the tournament, earning the $248,632 top prize. Tommy2tyme pocketed $126,412 for second place.

The final results were:
  1. G0T T!LT? -- $248,632
  2. Tommy2tyme -- $126,412
  3. ScAvvY06 -- $83,688
  4. HBHCR -- $68,952
  5. Oly_B -- $55,432
  6. poisson13 -- $41,912
  7. turtlestar -- $29,473
  8. ElFook -- $18,657
  9. DrEskilstuna -- $10,816

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

Full Tilt followed up its successful Full Tilt Online Poker Series VI with its most successful $750,000-guaranteed tournament to date. The tournament found 4,025 entrants, which generated a total prize pool of $805,000. That prize pool amounted to the largest-ever prize pool for the event. Before last night, the largest prize pool for the $750,000-guaranteed tournament was $765,200 (on Sept. 23, 2007).

The final two players gunning for that prize were Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaier and MotherBucker. IWEARGOGGLES (also known as LukeFromB13 on PokerStars) previously finished in third place in a $750,000-guaranteed event on Full Tilt in January of this year -- when it was a monthly, rather than weekly, event -- earning $60,000. This was to be MotherBucker's first Online Player of the Year-qualified finish. IWEARGOGGLES ultimately became the last player standing and earned the $142,154 first-place prize, which became his biggest-ever online tournament score.

The final results were:
  1. Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaier -- $142,154
  2. MotherBucker -- $86,054
  3. Adar -- $56,350

Cooldaddy-1 and Tomgus456 outlasted the field and a tough final table to begin a heads-up battle for the lion's share of the remaining prize pool. Cooldaddy-1 found himself with all of the chips at the end and earned himself a $45,000 payday for first place.

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

Prominent Internet player Thayer "THAY3R" Rasmussen made it to threehanded play before eventually bowing out in third place ($9,000). With THAY3R gone, Killa_Tyven and syzygy3732 were left to duke it out for the $25,000 first-place prize. Syzygy3732 eventually raked in the final pot and the top prize that went along with it.
