The National Poker League's $15,000 buy-in Tournament of Champions kicked off today and attracted 57 players, including many of the game's biggest names, like Allen Cunningham, Barry Greenstein, and John Juanda.
Entrants from around the world converged in the Venetian poker room at noon. Winners from all of this season's NPL stops were there to compete for the prize pool, which to nearly $813,000.
The televised event began its featured table with Rene Angelil, Gavin Smith, and Jamie Gold. Also competing are pros Joe Tehan, David Singer, Chris Ferguson, Brandon Adams, Andy Bloch, Nenad Medic, and Brad Booth.
