The second-annual
UltimateBet Online Championship (
UBOC 2) kicks off on Friday, Dec. 7, with a $100,000-guaranteed no-limit hold'em event with a $200 buy-in (with $15 registration fee). This time around, the series sports 13 events spanning 10 days and $2 million in guaranteed prize pools.
The series will conclude with the main event, a $750,000-guaranteed no-limit hold'em tournament with a $1,000 buy-in (with $50 registration fee), which will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. ET.
The series is no-limit hold'em heavy. Of the 13 events, 10 are variations of hold'em and three are variations of Omaha. Of the hold'em events, nine are no-limit hold'em tournaments, which include rebuy and shorthanded events, and one is limit hold'em.
Phil Hellmuth,
Annie Duke, and other members of Team UB will be on hand to host and play in the events.
Along with the heaps of cash on the line, players will also be jockeying for position on the
UBOC leader board. The leader-board winner at the end of the series will be awarded $100,000 for his accomplishment. All players who cash in an event earn points.

The winner of last year's first-ever
UBOC main event was well-known Internet poker pro
Brock "Maria Nuccia" Parker (aka t soprano). He earned more than $168,000 for taking down the event. That main event actually had a larger guarantee than this year's event ($1 million) and UltimateBet came out of pocket for $300,000 in overlays to cover the guarantee when 1,400 entrants bought in for $500 apiece.
