In this "Strip Poker" series, Card Player covers the Las Vegas poker scene - on The Strip and around the city.
Robin Leach, host of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, is set to host the first-annual Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Las Vegas Hilton tomorrow to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
A live auction will take place at 11 a.m. for sports, music, and movie memorabilia. The tournament begins at noon and is a $500 buy-in no-limit hold'em event with rebuys allowed throughout the first hour. The player prize pool is $50,000 (based on 120 entrants paid). All rebuys, add-ons, and additional proceeds over the guaranteed prize pool will be donated to the T.J. Martell Foundation, an organization that raises funds in support of research for leukemia, cancer, and AIDS.
Country music and rodeo superstars are scheduled to attend, including Buddy Jewell, Charley Pride, Tracy Byrd, Rodney Carrington, Trent Willmon, and Justin McBride.
Seats are still available. Register over the phone by contacting casino marketing at the Hilton at 800-457-3307.
