L.A. Poker Classic Through Event No. 3

More Than Half a Million Dollars in Prize Money Generated So Far

Kimya WilliamsThe L.A. Poker Classic kicked off Thursday to an impressive crowd. Taking place in one of the biggest poker cities in the United States, event No. 1, a $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament, attracted 1,191 participants. The winner was Kimya Williams. He took home nearly $78,000 of the $347,000 prize pool.

Catering to all players of the game, the next two events were $300 buy-in non-no-limit hold’em tournaments.Robert Pacleb Event No. 2 was a limit hold’em event that boasted a field of 387 players. It generated a prize pool of just under $113,000. Robert Pacleb took home the first-place prize of a little more than $30,000.

Event No. 3 was an Omaha eight-or-better event. Stan Zdanowich outlasted the field of 358 players to win almost $29,000 for first. The total prize pool came to about $Stan Zdanowich107,000. So far $566,286 has been awarded in prize-pool money.

Yesterday, a $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em rebuy event began, and it will finish up today. The event that starts today is a $500 buy-in seven-card stud tournament.
