The Urban Health Institute (UHI) is a non-profit organization that was founded to provide medical treatment and care for those in need from natural and man-made disasters, and the poker community is coming together in two special events to help ensure that the UHI has what it needs to do so.

The first event is online at Full Tilt on Wednesday at 8:05 p.m. ET. The buy-in is $10, half of which will go to the charity, and the other half will go to the prize pool. Poker pros Lynette Chan and Lee Watkinson are already registered. Players who would like to participate can find it under the “Private” tab in the tournaments section. The password is “UHI.”

In contrast to the somewhat tame and low-key online tournament, wherein players can contribute from the comfort of their own home, the other charity event for the UHI will be held at the famous Playboy Mansion. A number of poker pros and celebrities have already confirmed their attendance to the Third-Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament and Casino Night on Saturday, May 17. The tournament buy-in is $1,500 to play, and for $500, fans can be granted general admission. A red-carpet reception precedes the event, which begins promptly at 6 p.m.

The event is sponsored in part by Card Player. Check back on Card Player TV for a video from the event. The video from last year at the Playboy Mansion is a perennial favorite.

Those seeking more information can do so at the UHI website.
