As of now, 16 winners have been crowned in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII, and two of those were freshly minted from last night’s two tournaments, a H.A. event and a sixhanded no-limit hold’em (with rebuys) event. Both tourneys went above and beyond their guarantees to make combined prize pools of more than $1.3 million.

Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII: Event No. 15 — $200 H.A.

Sigi Stockinger The first event of the day was a H.A. tournament (half pot-limit hold’em, half pot-limit Omaha). The event had a $200 buy-in and attracted 932 entrants, which meant a prize pool of $186,400, surpassing the $150,000 guarantee with relative ease.

Eddy Scharf was the red-named, Full Tilt-sponsored pro to host the event, but he busted from his own event relatively early. Stuart Paterson and Sigi Stockinger, also red-namers, managed to represent the Full Tilt pros by finishing in the money. Some other notables to finish in the money in the event included Alon “hamazriya” Nissim, Jared “Smokinokun” Okun, Ben “1Mastermind” Chen, Chris “PiMaster” Viox, and Matt “SamENole” Smith, to name a few.

It eventually came down to Magic_ip and Siggen heads up, and Siggen outlasted his final opponent to take down the $42,872 first-place prize. Siggen also netted himself an FTOPS jersey and jersey avatar for his win.

The final results were:

  1. Siggen — $42,872
  2. Magic_ip — $27,028
  3. Alon “hamazriya” Nissim — $20,038
  4. ackbleh — $15,378
  5. Jared “Smokinokun” Okun — $11,650
  6. Charibert — $8,388
  7. HYTTI — $5,592
  8. SnappyMcHook — $4,362
  9. execcoach — $3,169

Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII: Event No. 16 — $300 Sixhanded No-Limit Hold’em Rebuy

Berry Johnston The $300 buy-in sixhanded no-limit hold’em rebuy event was the biggest online poker tournament of the night. The tournament had a $1 million guarantee, but with 1,072 entrants rebuying 2,014 times and adding on 690 times, the prize pool came to $1,132,800. The first-place finisher was looking to pocket $236,000.

The event’s host, Team Full Tilt member Phil Gordon, managed to outlast a little less than half of the field before himself busting. Two red-named pros did make the money, however: Jordan Morgan and Berry Johnston, who has been having an excellent FTOPS VIII thus far, having cashed in three events. Some other major players to make the money in the event (among many) included Evan “NEONPILS99” Parkes, Tim “Tmay420” West, Joe “hoodini10” Udine, Nath “TonyPisser” Pizzolatto, David “HigHRolliN44” Redlin, and Adam “adamoos” Elpayaa.

After 1,070 players had been sent railward, it was just Mark “xqsays” Radoja and stuckmyass remaining for the top prize, both trying to win the extra almost $80,000 that was on the line as the difference between first and second place. Stuckmyass ultimately took down the final pot to pick up the biggest payday of the night.

The final results were:

  1. stuckmyass — $236,189
  2. Mark “xqsays” Radoja — $157,459
  3. Evan “NEONPILS99” Parkes — $112,147
  4. Tim “Tmay420” West — $83,827
  5. STELLA05 — $60,038
  6. tedsfishfry — $38,515

Today features two FTOPS VIII events. The first is a sixhanded no-limit hold’em quadruple shootout event, in which the winner must take down four sixhanded single-table tournaments in a row. It has a $200+$16 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee. That event starts very soon, at 2 p.m. ET. The second event is a razz tournament, which has a $300+$22 buy-in and a $150,000 guarantee. That event starts at 9 p.m. ET. Satellites are currently running for all of the remaining events in the FTOPS VIII, and Card Player offers a Full Tilt deposit bonus to get players started. Card Player has made the full FTOPS VIII schedule available in an easy to read format.
