The primary focus of the weekend may have been on the big Sunday tournaments, but there were still four Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) events that took place over the weekend, including an epic two-day affair that saw one of the online community’s best rise up to take his second title of the Series.
Event No. 19 — No-Limit Hold’em
The weekend kicked off strong with a good, old-fashioned no limit-hold’em tournament. The $200 buy-in attracted nearly 2,000 entrants, creating a total prize pool just shy of $400,000.
Full Tilt pro Rob Hollink was on hand to host the event, which paid the highest 306 finishers. Unfortunately for Hollink, he bubbled the event, finishing in 309th place. Some Full Tilt pros who cashed in the event included Lee Watkinson, Steve Brecher, and Aaron Bartley. Online notables to go deep included Amit “amak316” Makhija (pictured at right), Thayer “THAY3R” Rasmussen, Joe “Dyzalot” Mourneau, Chris “PiMaster” Viox, Greg “DuckU” Hobson, and Aaron “SpanishKey” Been.
After eight grueling hours of play, Pot Odds 3 eventually took out edub707 to pocket the title, along with nearly $74,000.

Event No. 20 — Shorthanded Limit Hold’em
The second Friday event was a $200 shorthanded limit hold’em contest with 915 entrants. The smaller-than-expected field meant that the $200,000 guarantee would not be met. For the first time all series, Full Tilt was forced to provide an overlay.
The event was hosted by Mike Schneider. Fellow Full Tilt pro Aaron Bartley came close to cashing, but busted just three spots shy of the money in 123rd place. Online notables who did make the money included Justin “looshle” Pechie (pictured at right), Grayson “The_Dean221” Nichols, Jordan “pimpin_pens” Smith, and Kenny “Kenny Rap” Weinstein.
In the end, mypokerlife bested WinHumble heads up to claim the victory.

Event No. 21 — Two-Day No-Limit Hold’em
The largest buy-in event of the FTOPS started on Saturday and concluded last night. The $2,500 event brought in 899 entrants and created a total prize pool of $2,247,500, beating the guarantee by more than $700,000.
The event was hosted by Phil Ivey, who finished somewhere in the middle of the pack. Full Tilt pros who finished in the money included Thomas Bihl, Bruce Buffer, Jon “PearlJammed” Turner, and Erich Kollmann. Online notables to go deep included TheStein, rkruok, David “Davidp18” Peters, Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin (pictured at right), Travis “TravestyFund” Rice, Mike “TIMEX” McDonald, and Amit “amak316” Makhija.
The final table was stacked with some of the online community’s best, including event No. 11 winner Halfrek. When the marathon final table had finished, Halfrek emerged victorious for his second title in five days and a $516,925 payday. Over the course of a week, Halfrek has earned nearly $900,000 in tournament winnings, and, as a result, has taken over the Card Player Online Player of the Year (OPOY) leader board.

Event No. 22 — Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys
The final event of the day before the FTOPS Sunday finale was a $100 pot-limit Omaha tournament with rebuys. Nearly 950 players participated with 2,218 rebuys and 545 add-ons. The total prize pool eclipsed the guarantee and came to $370,200.
The event was hosted by Full Tilt pro Sigi Stockinger. Stockinger failed to cash in his own event, but fellow men in red Stefan Rapp, Ross Boatman, Berry Johnston, and Nenad Medic all made the money. Online notables to finish deep included Chris “Genius28” Lee (pictured at right), Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet, Steve “MrSmokey1” Billirakis, Brock “bobcards2” Parker, and Brent “Bhanks11” Hanks.
When all was said and done, theASHMAN103 was left standing with all of the chips in play.
