This past Sunday, June 1, 1,312 SpadeClub Exclusive members took their seats to battle for two of the four seats SpadeClub will be awarding this month to the World Series main event. In addition to the seats, SpadeClub awarded $20,000 in prize money to those placing in the top 300 spots, with the top six places being awarded at least $1,000. SpadeClub members Charles “labotomy” Goodwin and Ken “Handbone” Meyer, who placed first and second, respectively, walked away with the grand prize of a $10,000 buy-in to this year’s main event, plus $2,000 to use toward travel expenses.
Ken “Handbone” Meyer had this to say of his SpadeClub experience: “I would like to thank everyone at SpadeClub for providing me with the opportunity to win the world’s most prestigious prize [the World Series main-event championship title] at no cost to me. I am honored to be one of the first to represent you! I’m very dedicated [to the game], and I’ll do my best to stand out and gain respect for the entire SpadeClub Community.”
SpadeClub will be giving away its second pair of World Series prize packages on June 29, during the World Series $40K Giveaway, wherein the first- and second-place finishers will walk away with their $12,000 prize packages.
