Part one of the highly anticipated $1 Million PartyPoker.com Premier League final is broadcast tonight (Tuesday) at 00.05 BST on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland.
The final table, broadcast over two consecutive weeks, features a mouthwatering line-up:
Seat 1: Annie Duke (USA) 190,000
Seat 2: Andy Black (IRE) 330,000
Seat 3: Marcel Luske (HOL) 210,000
Seat 4: Roland De Wolfe (ENG) 200,000
Seat 5: Tony G (AUS) 380,000
Seat 6: Alexander Kravchenko (RUS) 260,000
Along the way to the final table players of the caliber of Phil Hellmuth, last year’s winner Juha Helppi, and Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott fell by the wayside in the innovative league format conceived by Matchroom Sports.
Twelve players took part in six, six-seater games in the preliminary stages with a buy-in of $60,000. PartyPoker.com added $280,000 to boost the prize pool to $1 million. The winner of the event receives $250,000 while the runner-up receives $120,000. The sixth place finisher collects $20,000.
