The Borgata Summer Open in Atlantic City ended yesterday with the culmination of its $5,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em championship, and it was Allen Bari who arose victorious.
He outlasted the 345-player field to snag more than $500,000 of the $1.25 million prize pool for first place. Bari, of West Orange, New Jersey, cashed in a $2,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas just a few days before this win all the way across the country. The second-place finisher was Vinny Pahuja, who received nearly $290,000.
This wasn't the first time these two have met heads up. Earlier this year at the WSOP Circuit event at Caesars Atlantic City, Bari and Pahuja faced off in a $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em event. Bari got the best of it heads up against Pajuja in that match, as well.
