Poker fans and insomniacs who have been patiently awaiting new episodes of NBC’s Poker After Dark (PAD) are breathing a sigh of relief as season four kicks off early Tuesday morning at 2:05 a.m. PST this week.

Viewers will not only be greeted by the new hostess, Leeann Tweeden, but they will also see that Poker After Dark has broken its tradition of showing short-handed winner-take-all tournaments. This week, six high-stakes stars will take the felt in a $200-$400 no-limit hold’em cash game with a minimum buy-in of $100,000.

The following is information on this week’s featured players:

Tom “durrr” Dwan (Seat 1)

This 21-year-old poker pro has quickly gained a reputation for his uncanny talent at the tables. At his young age, Dwan gained his experience online as “durrr,” crushing the highest-limit cash games available. He has also already accumulated almost $970,000 in tournament winnings. This year, Dwan was invited to the NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship (NHUPC), and defeated Phil Hellmuth in the first round on the third hand when he pushed all-in preflop with pocket tens and got called by Hellmuth’s pocket aces. Dwan hit a set on the turn, sending Hellmuth to the raPhil Hellmuthil in the shortest heads-up match in NHUPC history. Hellmuth is also featured at this table.

Phil Hellmuth (Seat 2)

Phil Hellmuth is arguably the best no-limit hold’em tournament player in history. He has the most World Series of Poker bracelets at 11 and more than $9.6 million in lifetime winnings. Hellmuth has also won 2-7 PAD matches.

Mike Baxter (Seat 3)

Known as “Silent Mike,” Mike Baxter is strictly a recreational cash game player and full-time hedge-fund manager in California. Despite poker not being his main source of income, Baxter is known to be fearless at the table as shown in last season’s High Stakes Poker on GSN.

Allen Cunningham (Seat 4)

Allen Cunningham is known for his quiet and controlled image, seemingly neveAllen Cunninghamr rattled in any situation. This has contributed to his five WSOP bracelets and more than $9.7 million in lifetime tournament winnings. His biggest tournament cash came at the 2006 WSOP when he finished fourth for $3.6 million. Viewers will get a rare look at Cunningham’s cash game prowess.

Guy Laliberte (Seat 5)

Co-founder of Cirque du Soleil and current CEO Guy Laliberte is ranked among the world’s wealthiest people by Forbes Magazine, and he has no problem using that money for charity and high-stakes poker. He plays in the biggest games around and often pledges a portion of his winnings to his favorite charity One Drop. Laliberte also made the televised final table of the 2007 World Poker Tour Five-Star World Poker Classic.

David “Viffer” Peat
(Seat 6)-

High-stakes cash games are David Peat’s bread and butter. He regularly plays as high as $300-$600, and has been a professional grinder for the past five years. Though only competing in a few tournaments a year, Peat still has more than $277,000 in winnings.

The week’s episodes begin Tuesday morning at 2:05 a.m. and continue for five consecutive nights in the same time slot. On Sunday morning at 1 a.m., a special “Director’s Cut” episode will air and recap the week’s action.
