Emblaze Productions has announced it will be filming the FullTiltPoker.com £1 Million Challenge this September in London for broadcast on Sky Sports in February 2009.
The tournament, which proved a massive hit in Germany in October 2007 when Martin Kläser defeated 2,100 players for the opportunity to play Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, and Howard Lederer heads up for €1 million. He won two matches and €350,000.
The UK version will see 80 online qualifiers play against each other for the chance to get heads up with three Full Tilt pros and a shot at £1 Million.
James Hopkins, managing director of Emblaze Productions said, “This will be the first show of its kind in the UK and must see TV for all poker enthusiasts. A spectacular event culminating in a £1,000,000 play-off, this will be TV drama at its very best.”
