Wins More Than $251,000 in Tournament Series Championship Event

Julian ThewThe 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza series at the Venetian ended yesterday with the culmination of its $5,000 championship event, and 2007 European Poker Tour Baden winner Julian Thew walked away the winner with more than $251,000.

The championship attracted 173 entrants, which generated a prize pool of almost $810,000. Chris Tryba was runner-up and took home just over $147,000.
