Brit Julian Thew walked away with more than $251,000 after taking down the $5,000 championship event at the 2008 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza.
Thew, the 2007 European Poker Tour Baden winner, beat 173 entrants to take the lion’s share of the $810,000 prize pool.
The Deep Stack tournament series attracted almost 17,000 runners and awarded more than $9.3 million in prize money.
