ChanPoker.com, the site fronted by poker pro Johnny Chan, is closing down today.
The site intends to honour all cash withdrawals, but requests should be made as soon as possible. Once a withdrawal has been made the user’s account will automatically close.
Signing off on a hopeful note, Chan Poker Customer Support said, “For those that wish to continue playing online poker, know that we are actively seeking a partner to provide a new home that will honour your player point balances. We will keep you informed of developments on this front.”
Chan has over $5 million in lifetime winnings, but is mostly noted for winning the World Series Of Poker main event two years in a row, in 1987 and 1988. Many will be very sad to see the back of the popular player's online poker room as it shuts its doors today.
