New World Poker Marathon Record SetDave Cain Plays His Way Into Record Books With 74 Hour Marathon |

Englishman Dave Cain believes he has set a new world record for poker playing, clocking up a staggering 74 hour heads up poker session earlier this week in the Library Bar, Lincoln. Cain, who was raising money for charity with his attempt, had planned to play 100 hours but stopped short on health grounds after he broke the previous record of 72 hours set by American Larry Olmsted in 2004.
Cain played as many opponents and cash games as possible, with buy-ins ranging from £10-£100. Anyone wishing to play could decide on the amount to put forward, which was then met by Cain himself. If he won, the money went to charity, and if his opponent won, they received prizes worth the equivalent cash value, which many donated to charity.
The record attempt will now be checked and verified by Guinness before entering the record books.
