Sherkhan Farnood Wins WSOPE H.O.R.S.E. EventFarnood is Unstoppable, While Ivo Donev Makes Valiant Attempt at Gold |

It was Austria versus Afghanistan in the World Series Of Poker Europe’s £2,500 H.O.R.S.E event. Ivo Donev and Sherkhan Farnood were the two players left standing from a field of 110, and both were determined to take the top prize of £76,999 from the ₤275,000 prize pool.
Donev made an amazing Rocky-like comeback towards the end but as his chips started to leak in the direction of Farnood, it was soon all over.
It was in a round of stud that the Austrian got his last 70,000 in on third street and Farnood made the call.
Farnood: (8) (4) 86QJ(Q)
Donev: (K) (J) 3267 (4)
Donev’s flush draw never materialised, so Farnood’s two pair, queens and eights, earned him his first World Series Of Poker bracelet and ₤76,999. Donev received £48,125 for a stellar performance and a jaw-dropping comeback.
Farnood is, however, one to keep an eye on, as it seems no one is safe from this unstoppable poker playing machine. Double tabling in the early stages of event 2, the £5,000 pot-limit Omaha, he was seen raking in chips there also. But it is still early days for this ambitious Afghani.
