Imagine sitting down across the table from five of your poker idols with $120,000 on the line that will go to the last person standing. This situation sounds like a dream for many poker fans, and on this week’s brand-new Poker After Dark, which premieres on Tuesday at 2:05 a.m. ET on NBC, Paul Featherstone of Woodland, California, gets to live this dream.
The 25-year-old won his way into this $20,000 buy-in six-handed freezeout tournament through an online freeroll. He will get to compete against five of his all-time favorite players, including Mike Matusow (0-9 PAD record), Phil Hellmuth (3-8), Mike Sexton (1-1), Jennifer Harman (1-6), and Gavin Smith (1-2).
On last season’s Dream Match, Ken Light was the amateur who got thrown into the big leagues. Hellmuth was the winner of that match, knocking out both Light and Harman in the same hand. Viewers will see if Featherstone fairs any better.
After the Tuesday 2:05 a.m. ET showing, the episodes will continue in the same timeslot for the next five nights. On Sunday, at 1 a.m., a special “Director’s Cut” episode will air and recap the week’s action.
