APPT: Auckland Main Event Begins Tomorrow

First Stop in New Zealand is the Third Stop on the APPT for Season Two

Lee NelsonThe inaugural edition of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Auckland will begin tomorrow, Oct. 9 and run through Oct. 12 at the SKYCITY Casino in Auckland, New Zealand. The main event features a buy-in of $3,000 NZD, and it will most likely be the largest prize pool in New Zealand tournament poker history. There will also be a $10,000 NZD high-rollers event on Oct. 11.

“Tournament poker is booming in New Zealand at the moment,” said Team PokerStars pro and 2006 Aussie Millions champion Lee Nelson, “and I look forward to seeing how the local talent measures up against the international poker stars coming to Auckland. This tournament will do great things for the sport in my country.”

In addition to Nelson, the event will also feature Team PokerStars pros and former world champions Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, and Joe Hachem.

Thursday, Oct. 9: Day 1A (all preliminary days begin at 12:15 p.m.)
Friday, Oct. 10: Day 1B
Saturday, Oct. 11: Day 2
Sunday, Oct. 12: Final Table (begins at 1 p.m.)

$10,000 NZD APPT Auckland high-rollers event

Saturday, Oct. 11: Day 1 (one-day event that begins at 6:15 p.m.)
