Fiachra Meere has won the PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival main event, the Irish Masters, beating out Chris Wood to take down the €150,000 first prize at the €1,500 buy-in event.

On the last hand of the evening Meere got it all in with A-6 versus Ciara O'LearyWood’s J-J; the flop was 8-7-2, the turn was a 9 and the river a 5 to give Fiachra a straight and the title.

Wood finished in second place and takes home €106,000.  Interesting fact; both players qualified for the Irish Masters via freerolls - in Fiachra’s case, a live freeroll in Fitzpatricks in Limerick and in Chris Wood’s case, an online qualifer.

The final table payouts were:

1st Fiachra Meere -- €150,000
2nd Chris Wood -- €106,000
3rd John Rafferty -- €68,500
4th David Poole -- €57,000
5th Peter Murphy -- €48,700
6th Jamie Zambuni -- €40,500.
7th Andreas Schippani -- €24,000
8th Warren Woodall -- €17,180

The event attracted 423 players to the Citywest hotel in Dublin creating a prize pool of over €600,000. World Series of Poker bracelet winner Ciaran O'Leary is currently leader in the €500 side event with five players remaining.
