Dennis PhillipsDennis Phillips, the current chip leader of the 2008 World Series of Poker main event, is holding a warmup event in preparation for the final table, which resumes Nov. 9.

The $10,000 Dennis Phillips Chipleader Challenge takes place Nov. 7 at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. The shootout will be limited to 20 players, and each table winner will win $50,000. The final two players will then play heads up for $150,000.

“This special tournament will be a good mix of some of the best poker players in the world and high-profile amateurs,” Phillips said. “It will give me a chance to brush up on my single-table strategy while still allowing me to have a good time.”

Confirmed players are Phillips, Roy Winston, David Benyamine, Erica Schoenberg, and Hoyt Corkins. Seats are still available and can be purchased by visiting the Hard Rock’s poker room cage.

The buy-in includes an after-party and the felt from the two tables will be signed and auctioned off for charity.
