PartyPoker.com has announced Vicky Coren and Nenad Medic as the latest players in the lineup for Premier League III, taking place in London from Nov. 24-30, 2008. They will take to the felt with  last year’s winner, Andy Black, season-I winner Juha Helppi, Roland De Wolfe, J.C. Tran, and Annette Obrestad.

Nenad Medic"Nenad Medic is a 'real' player,” said poker legend Mike Sexton. “He has won on the World Poker Tour and at the WSOP, and all of the top players respect him. When it comes to players who excel in both cash games and tournaments, Nenad Medic is one of the best in the world."

Medic himself said, "I'm very excited about taking part in the Premier League and the opportunities and television exposure it gives. I think it will help that I know all of the players involved."

He is joined by European Poker Tour winner and broadcaster Vicky Coren from the UK. "I'm really pleased my friend Annette is in the new lineup,” said Coren, “because I'm a huge fan of hers for many reasons. On the other hand, she's the only one I fear. The rest of them are darling little poppets, but — like all men — they can't take pain, they can't keep secrets, they can't hide their feelings. They are emotional, stubborn, impatient, and hamstrung by pride. When they put shelves up, they hammer their thumbs, wail, shriek, and pretend to be fine when they're obviously not. Translate that to the poker table: this is Christmas."

The innovative league format TV tournament sees 12 of the world’s best poker players for a total prize pool of $1.25 million, of which $350,000 is added by the sponsor.

Matchroom Sport devised the unique format, which sees the 12 players play six times in the league before the top four progress to the final table, and the four runners-up play heads up for the remaining two places.

Last year the final leader board looked like this:

  1. Andy Black (Ireland) — $316,000
  2. Roland De Wolfe (England) — $160,000
  3. Tony G (Lithuania) — $136,000
  4. Alexander Kravchenko (Russia) — $92,000
  5. Marcel Luske (Holland) — $72,000
  6. Annie Duke (America) — $58,000
  7. Eddy Scharf (Germany) — $38,000
  8. Dave “The Devilfish” Ulliott (England) — $38,000
  9. Vicky Coren (England) — $34,000
  10. Juha Helppi (Finland) — $22,000
  11. Ian Frazer (England) — $18,000
  12. Phil Hellmuth (America) — $16,000
