World champions Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson are both scheduled to come back to the show this year, while 2008 main-event winner Peter Eastgate and runner-up Ivan Demidov will make their debuts.

Other players scheduled to appear are Patrik Antonius, Michael Baxter, David Benyamine, Nick Cassavetes, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, Phil Laak, Howard Lederer, Giorgio Medici, Dario Minieri, Daniel Negreanu, Ilari Sahamies, Bob Safai, and Sam Simon.

The play will be filmed at the Golden Nugget casino Dec. 19-21.

The show already created buzz when it announced that the new minimum buy-in for all shows would be $200,000, as opposed to the $100,000 players usually bought in for. By the end of last season though, players were buying for $500,000 per player.

High Stakes Poker, by a wide margin, has become a must-see on Game Show Network for poker players and poker fans all over the world,” said Henry Orenstein, an executive producer of the show.

“I am very excited about the mix of players that we will bring together for this next season,” said Mori Eskandani, another executive producer. “Viewers are in for a thrill.”
