Charity Poker Events in 2009 to Benefit Paralyzed Vets

Andy Bloch will play in the Paralyzed Veterans of America charity eventTwo charity poker tournaments featuring some of the biggest names in poker and entertainment — both benefitting the Paralyzed Veterans of America — will take place early in 2009.

Ben Affleck, Andy Bloch, Lee Childs, Poker Players Alliance Chairman Senator Alfonse D'Amato, Richard and Kyle Petty, Mike Sexton, and Montel Williams committed to the events, which take place Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Rio in Las Vegas and Wednesday, March 25, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

The buy-in for the Vegas event is $750 and it is $500 for the D.C tourney. Gallery seats are $300. The winner of the Vegas event will receive an entry into the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational.

Other prizes for both events include a VIP Race Weekend with Richard Petty. More prizes will be announced at a later time.

Set to appear at the D.C. event are paralyzed veterans, members of Congress, senior congressional staff, military and government officials, key healthcare and veterans-affairs advocates, celebrities, professional race-car drivers, corporate representatives, and poker enthusiasts.
