The California State Poker Championship is coming back to the Commerce Casino starting Tuesday September 6, with an estimated $6 million in prize money to be awarded, and a $50,000 cash prize to the best all-around player.

Three weeks of preliminary events, including hold'em, stud, and Omaha games, will lead up to the $5,100 championship event on September 23rd. Last year, actor Ben Affleck took home the $356,400 first place prize, continuing the run of underdog champions in big buy-in poker events.

California is home to many of the top flight poker pros, so don't be surprised to see familiar faces competing in many of the events. World Poker Tour Champion Tuan Le is slated to compete, and many other big name pros have made a splash at previous Cal State Poker Championships including Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Men "The Master" Nguyen, and David "The Dragon" Pham.

Preliminary event buy-ins range from $330-$2000. The Commerce Casino will also be running a $520 super satellite, for the $1.5 million championship event, on September 22nd.
