Day 3 of the €5,000 buy in PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Deauville saw 47 players work their way down to a final table of 8 with players of the caliber of Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, Ivo Donev, Alessio Isaia, and Michel Abecassis falling by the wayside during play.
Ulliott's tournament life came to an end when his A-9 was thrashed by pocket aces and he picked up €15,500 for his 23rd place finish.
Mercedes Osti was the longest lasting female in the game , taking down 16th spot for €18,600.
Professional soccer star Vikash Dhorasoo was all-in with A10 and Tomas De Hoog, two seats to his left, called with JJ. The board came down: KQ385, the jacks held and Dhorasoo was out in 15th place for €18,600.
Alessio Isaia shoved all-in from under the gun with 10-7. Thomas Delattre called from the big blind with Q-10.
The board was Q-5-4-A-X which sent the pink haired pro home €23,200 richer for 13th place.
Soon after De Hoog raised to 42,000 under the gun. Andrea Benelli reraised to 102,000 pushing everyone else out of the way.
De Hoog shoved for 400,000 in total and Benelli insta-calls revealing A-A
De Hoog turned over 10-10 and the short stacks' (sitting nearby) eyes lit up as they watched one of the chip leaders get in to a spot of trouble with not long to go before the final table.
The board brought nothing for either player: K7554. Benelli just about had De Hoog covered and moved onto 980,000 in chips and De Hoog went home in 12th place with €31,000
Next up Bruno Haddad raised to 45,000 and Tristan Clemencon, one seat to his left reraised, to around 150,000.
Haddad called and the flop came down 964.
Haddad checked and Clemencon bet 150,000, only to face a check-raise all-in from Haddad of just under 400,000. Clemencon tanked for a long time and then called with pocket queens.
Haddad was behind with pocket jacks. The turn was the 9, and the river confirmed Haddad's fate with the Q. He left with €31,000 for 11th place.
David Daraux exited the tournament in 10th place for €46,400 and the players now jockeyed to avoid being the final table bubble boy. Jan Meinberg moved all-in with AK and Andrew Benelli called with pocket threes.
The board fell Q7469 and Meinberg was the last elimination of the day as Benelli reserved his seat at the final table which consists of:
