Five Exclusive members and their “plus one” will be setting sail on March 29 on the Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Sea loaded with tons of poker play and good time.

Here is what the winners had to say about their win and the exciting cruise they are about to embark on.

December Winner, Ken “Handbone” Meyer:

Ken 'Handbone' Meyer

SpadeClub: First off, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Ken “Handbone” Meyer: Sure, I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I’ve been married for almost eight years now. We married in Vegas, honeymooned in Reno. She’s an Oregon girl, which is where we’d like to end up at some point. I've been playing no-limit hold’em for about two years now. I’ve been studying the game pretty hard since last June, and I’d like to make it my career by the end of the year. I’ll be trying to make it into the World Series again this year. If I can’t win my seat for free again, I’ll be looking for a couple of sponsors.

SC: Are you excited about your seven-night cruise throughout the Western Caribbean on a Card Player Cruise?

KM: Heck yeah! I played football on a team called the Pirates in junior-high, and I’ve been interested, bitten, and stung by the pirate bug ever since. I like the lore, the characters … uh … and the rum. You might say a cruise in the Caribbean is right up my galley.

SC: What part are you looking forward to most?

KM: We’re going to see the Mayan ruins in Tulum. That’s on the mainland, Mexico, when we dock at Cozumel. The culture of that time period is very interesting. Not to mention their calendar predicts the end of the world in 2012, which isn't too far away. We’ll be in the Grand Caymans the following day. We’ve booked an excursion to the famous Stingray City, where we can interact with wild stingrays and do some snorkeling. The next day we’ll be Irie, “In Jamaica, mon!”

SC: Who are you bringing with you?

KM: I’ll be bringing my wife. Our anniversary is in April, so this will be our little get-away.

SC: Do you plan on getting in as much poker play as you can while on your cruise?

KM: Three days of this cruise is pure sailing, so I’ll have plenty of time to be hanging out in the poker room. I usually just stick to the $1-$2 no-limit tables. It looks like there are only two tournaments I’ll play though, but I’m not sure yet if one might interfere with the Bellagio final on SpadeClub.com. I’d rather play for my next big seat on SpadeClub if I can get a connection to hold up while riding the high seas.

SC: What strategy do you think prevails in winner-take-all tournaments like the Card Player Cruise Caribbean Adventure?

KM: When first place is all that matters, you have to stick to your guns. You got to be thinking about going the distance at all times and at all costs. You also have to play the player and not just the board a lot. You can’t let big hands go to waste, and sometimes you have to talk people into the pot with you.

SC: What are some of your other poker accomplishments?

KM: Last June I won the first World Series main-event-seat tournament on SpadeClub.com, which was a $12K grand prize package. I was interviewed and featured in Card Player magazine, which I had always picked up at my local casinos. At the World Series I met Doyle Brunson, and he autographed his page in the same issue my interview was in. I didn’t cash in the World Series, but I had my best streak so far that week. In six days I played eight tournaments and final tabled five of them. On Dec. 1, I won the Card Player Cruise Caribbean Adventure tournament. This is my second grand-prize win. I was interviewed again by Card Player magazine, and I appeared in their pages for a second time in six months. I like to think I’m off to a pretty good start and hope to be adding more to these soon.

SC: Anything else you would like to add?

KM: Yeah ... a bracelet! And thanks to everyone at CardPlayer.com and SpadeClub.com for making it all possible! Good luck on the felts!

January Winner, Pamela “TBL6” Moore:

Pamela 'TBL6' MooreSpadeClub: First off, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Pamela “TBL6” Moore: I retired three years ago from a long career as a golf professional. I spent the last several years of my career as head professional at a club here in Solvang, a beautiful Danish community north of Santa Barbara, California. Taking up poker has been a good retirement activity for me because it is similar to golf. It requires the ability to focus for long periods of time, and even though it is played with others, it is still an individual competition, not a team endeavor. I have been playing for about four years, both online and at a local casino. I enjoy the anonymity of online poker (although winning this trip might mess with that a little bit), as well as the social aspects of live games.

SC: Are you excited about your seven-night cruise throughout the Western Caribbean on a Card Player Cruise?

PM: Yes, I am excited about the upcoming Card Player Cruise. I have often thought it would be fun to go on a poker cruise, and I was totally surprised when I actually won one! I am planning to participate in a couple of the tournaments and play as many hours of live games as I can.

SC: Who are you bringing with you?

PM: My cruising partner, Diane Reuter, is not a poker player. We play golf together quite a bit, though, and are looking forward to doing some snorkeling and exploring the local culture while on the cruise.

SC: What strategy do you think prevails in winner-take-all tournaments like the Card Player Cruise Caribbean Adventure?

PM: I think that patience is one of the most important factors in winning a multi-stage, large-field tournament. The ability to maintain focus over many hours of play, paying attention to the actions of the other players, and switching gears during various stages of the tournament are things that help, also. There is so much more to winning than just playing your cards.

SC: What are some of your other poker accomplishments?

PM: I have had some success online and have won a few tournaments at the local casino, but my game is still evolving. Learning from mistakes and reading as much about poker as I can helps me to improve. Having SpadeClub as a place to experiment and compete without risking my entire retirement has made a big difference. Winning this Cruise was a real boost.

February Winner, Greg “floppynutz82” Collins:

Greg 'floppynutz82' CollinsSpadeClub: First off, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Greg “floppynutz82” Collins: I was born and raised here in Weaverville, North Carolina. I have a beautiful wife and daughter, grandfather, great Dane, and a very mean kitty cat who all live with me. Poker is my favorite pastime, along with camping, rafting, shooting pool, and throwing darts. I am also a brick, block, and stone mason. I love rock and roll and cold beer, but most of all my family and friends.

SC: Are you excited about your seven-night cruise throughout the Western Caribbean on a Card Player Cruise?

GC: I don’t know if I have ever been so excited about anything!

SC: What part are you looking forward to most?

GC: I would have to say the tourneys. I have never had the opportunity to play in any other than with family and friends (and on the Internet, of course). Win or lose, poker is by far my favorite thing to do. Also, I am very excited about going to Jamaica and relaxing on the boat.

SC: Who are you bringing with you?

GC: I am going to bring my wife Jamie with me, as well as our best friends Josh and Joanie, known on SpadeClub as Torque1 and HotHands, respectively.

SC: Do you plan on getting in as much poker play as you can while on your cruise?

GC: I plan on playing in every tournament offered, and maybe some blackjack in the casino.

SC: What strategy do you think prevails in winner-take-all tournaments like the Card Player Cruise Caribbean Adventure?

GC: I believe patience and self-control play a large role in any tournament. I also think going all in preflop is a little too risky if you can be knocked out by larger chip stacks. I have seen pocket aces get busted many, many times. I also like to try to sense strength or weakness in other players’ bets.

SC: What are some of your other poker accomplishments?

GC: I don't know that I have any, other than winning some cash here and there. Also, it keeps me in touch with old friends, because we all get together to play poker. I would love to go pro, but I don’t know if the opportunity will ever be available.

SC: Anything else you would like to add?

GC: I would just like to thank the SpadeClub team for all of your support and congratulate you on such a wonderful, successful poker site. I have played on many sites, and you guys are by far my favorite.

March Winner, John “come2me” Miller:

John 'come2me' MillerSpadeClub: First off, can you tell us a little about yourself?

John ‘come2me” Miller: I am a father of two, husband, and friend to more than one. I love playing poker!

SC: Are you excited about your seven-night cruise throughout the Western Caribbean on a Card Player Cruise?

JM: You bet, an I’m all in!

SC: What part are you looking forward to most?

JM: Leaving reality behind for seven of the best nights and the new memories I will create.

SC: Who are you bringing with you?

JM: A young woman, my wife!

SC: Do you plan on getting in as much poker play as you can while on your cruise?

JM: Yes, yes, yes!

SC: What strategy do you think prevails in winner-take-all tournaments like the Card Player Cruise Caribbean Adventure?

JM: Having the best hand when I’m in.

SC: What are some of your other poker accomplishments?

JM: I won a red token, but winning the Caribbean Adventure is my first accomplishment.

SC: Anything else you would like to add?

JM: Yes, SpadeClub rocks! Good luck at the tables, SpadeClub members.
