Scotty Nguyen Discuses Poker and H.O.R.S.E. on The ScoopThe Prince/King of Poker Talks About His Tournament Success |

It’s hard to argue that there is a better tournament H.O.R.S.E. player today than Scotty Nguyen. The former world champ has been a menace at the mixed games, winning the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. world championship at the World Series last year before following it up with an impressive encore performance with a victory in the L.A. Poker Classic’s $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. event last month.
This week, the H.O.R.S.E. specialist sits down with Adam Schoenfeld and Diego Cordovez on this week’s episode of the The Scoop on Card Player TV (sponsored by Full Tilt).
Nguyen talks about how hard he worked to get good at all of the games, the need for players to analyze what went wrong when they bust out of tournaments, and his disdain for razz. He also goes on to discuss why pros excel at H.O.R.S.E., saying that there is less of a chance of that one big suckout that is often their demise in the big no-limit tournaments.
The pro has had his share of controversial moments, most notably for his alcohol-fueled antics at the H.O.R.S.E. final table at the WSOP. Nguyen talks a little bit about his ego and his desire to be remembered.
The interview will be shown in two parts, with Part 2 airing next week on Card Player TV.
