Isaac 'westmenloAA' BaronThe PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) events are now in full swing. The SCOOP is a 22-tournament series spread out over 11 days of action. Each tournament is offered with three different sets of buy-ins ranging from low, to mid, to high stakes. Buy-ins are offered for as little as $5.50 and can be as high as $25,500. Make sure you check out the full schedule of events.

Event No. 1 -- Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em with Rebuys

Everything kicked off at 2:30 p.m. EST yesterday afternoon with some good old-fashioned no-limit hold'em action. The low $5 buy-in version of the tournament was given a much-too-pessimistic guarantee of just $50,000. That number was shattered before the rebuys and add-ons even kicked in. When all was said and done, the prize pool reached $435,030, the lion's share of which went to Eetu100, who took it down.

The mid-stakes version featured a $50 buy-in and had a much more familiar name emerge as the winner. Isaac "westmenloAA" Baron (pictured above right), former Card Player Online Player of the Year, bested the field of 4,057 and pocketed just shy of six-figures for his win.

Josh 'SDouble' SchleinThe biggest prize pool of the day belonged the the high-stakes players and their $500 buy-in, whose prize pool reached $1,109,500. Just missing out on the final table was Josh "Sdouble" Schlein (pictured left), who went out in eighth place, settling for $23,299. Continue reading below to find out how Schlein did in event No. 2. The tournament, which was won by BongBob for $191,135, took a ridiculous 20 hours to complete. That's not a typo, the event wrapped up at 10:30 a.m. EST.

Event No. 2 -- Pot-Limit Omaha Eight-Or-Better

At 4:30 p.m EST, it was time to switch the focus over to a new set of tournaments featuring pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better. The low $10 buy-in freezeout was the only tournament of the day that didn't boast a six-figure prize pool. thehoffa was the eventual winner, pocketing $9,945 for being the last man standing.

It was during the mid-stakes version, with a $100 buy-in, that Schlein was able to make up for his earlier shortcomings. Schlein, or Sdouble, topped the field of 2,104 to not only pick up an additional $33,664 on the day, but also vault himself to the top of the SCOOP Player of the Series leader board.

The $1,000 buy-in high-stakes tournament drew in 327 elite players, and the win went to finsfan7, who banked $66,871 for his victory.

Today's action will feature pot-limit five-card draw and a second-chance turbo no-limit hold'em tournament.
