Jennifer Harman and her dogIt’s one of the biggest and most popular charity tournaments of the year. On April 17, the Venetian poker room will host the third-annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament.

In its previous two years, the Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament has raised more than $450,000 for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

The 2009 Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament will likely attract a large field and raise a considerable chunk of change for the cause, as well. The buy-in for the event will be $330 with $100 rebuys during the first hour and a $100 add-on.

The tournament will start at 5 p.m., with a red carpet walk at 4 p.m. Don’t be surprised to see a few pets accompanying poker players on the red carpet.

The winner of the event will get a seat into the 2009 World Series of Poker main event and a Curtis and Co. watch. The top 10 finishers will also receive prizes.

Registration at the Venetian poker room’s cashier cage begins April 16 at 12 p.m.

The event will also feature silent and live auctions, with autographed sports and poker memorabilia up for grabs.
