Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament Starts Tomorrow

Popular Charity Event is in its Third Year

Jennifer Harman's charity tournament will take place tomorrowFestivities for the popular and always successful Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament kicks off tomorrow, Friday, with a red-carpet ceremony from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. A myriad of celebrities and poker pros have already confirmed attendance in the charity tournament, which begins at 5 p.m. in the Venetian poker room.

Past World Series of Poker main-event champions Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, and Jerry Yang are all planning on playing in the event, along with a lengthy list of fellow pros that includes Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Eli Elezra, Andy Bloch, Maria Ho, and Tiffany Michelle.

There will also be a few celebrities in attendance, including Dancing with the Stars’ Karina Smirnoff, as well as Nancy Cartwright, best known for being the voice of Bart Simpson.

The buy-in for the event will be $330 with $100 rebuys during the first hour and a $100 add-on.

The winner of the event will get a seat into the 2009 World Series of Poker main event and a Curtis and Co. watch. The top 10 finishers will also receive prizes.

The event will also feature silent and live auctions, with autographed sports and poker memorabilia up for grabs.

In its previous two years, the Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament has raised more than $450,000 for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
