'Bond 18' Discusses Early-Stage Play in Free Poker Video

Online Pro Shares Thoughts on Rebuys and Hand Selection

Tony DunstMany instructional videos for tournament poker feature the final table of a massive tournament the online pro waded through before ever turning on the camera. While they are beneficial, they don't do much good for the amateur poker player looking to first reach that final table.

Tony "Bond 18" Dunst fills this void by hosting a training video exclusively on early stage tournament play. His video features two online tournaments -- a $10 rebuy and a $109 freezeout -- as he goes over hand selection and three-betting in this week's free training clip from Card Player Pro (powered by PokerSavvy Plus).

In this video, Dunst shows which hands he will open with in a rebuy (any pair from any position), and the kinds of hands he'll just throw away (J-10 from under the gun). He encourages players to realize that players are going to call lightly in the rebuys, which is why three-betting should usually be reserved for strong hands in the smaller stakes.

He also encourages players to play "fairly straight forward" in the early stages, while discussing his raise sizes in the early part of a tournament.

That entire video can be viewed by members of Card Player Pro, as well as the full video catalog from PokerSavvy Plus. A seven-day trial membership is also available and gives full access to the videos and the site’s other features.
