Poker's Andrew Robl Talks Databases on The Scoop

Young Pro Talks About Their Negative Impact on the Game

The more Andrew Robl talked about it, the more you could see his conviction.

“I don’t think it’s good for the game,” Robl simply said at first, speaking about the databases available online that show which poker players are winners and which are losers online.

But the young pro then talked about all of the verbal abuse he’s seen players take, not only online but also in the live games he has played in — clearly incredulous that people would berate losing players and possibly shun them from returning.

Robl and the two hosts of The Scoop, Adam Schoenfeld and Diego Cordovez, discussed online databases in great detail in this week’s episode on Card Player TV. The Scoop is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker.

Robl also talks about training sites, poker books, and his infamous hand at the Aussie Millions cash game.

In that particular hand, Robl got all his money in against Patrik Antonius with top pair in a PLO game, despite being way behind Antonius’ monster draws. The two pros decided to run it four times, and Robl won them all — a statistical improbability, to say the least.
