Ladbrokes Poker Players Get Lucky with Bad Beat

Bad Beat Jackpot Turns Horror Story into Fairytale at Ladbrokes Poker

The Bad Beat Jackpot strikes again at Ladbrokes Poker, turning frowns into smiling faces, and putting a little life back into some online accounts. Finnish player “BrockBiers”, who has only been playing on the site since January, was playing a $0.50-£1 ten-seater table on Tuesday, and when he made quad jacks, he was confident in taking down the $95 pot. He was, however, beaten by a straight flush, but bad luck quickly turned into good fortune when the Bad Beat Jackpot was activated and $95,833.17 went straight into his account. The other player who was dealt into the hand, “Rockon”, was also given just under $6,000.

This is the second bad beat windfall at the site in a short period of time, as in March one player’s quad queens was beaten by another’s quad aces, and they were awarded $81,000 and $40,000 respectively.

Head of Ladbrokes Poker, Kate McLennan said, “I guess this is one bad beat story that people won’t mind listening to. It is quite difficult to activate the Bad Beat Jackpot. The losing hand must contain four of a kind, four or more players must be dealt into the hand, the hand must go to a showdown and the best hand of the winner and the loser must include both hole cards. So for our players to win the BB jackpot on more than one occasion in less than three months is quite a feat. Our players are seemingly getting a disproportionate amount of Bad Beats, but luckily it’s on the right tables!”

Elsewhere at LadbrokesPoker.com, the richest cash game race rake ever held is running until August, and sees the company give away $1 million to the top 3,000 rakers each month.
