Tomas Alenius from Sweden and Roland de Wolfe from Britain are the latest European bracelet winners at the World Series of Poker, bringing the total number of Euro victories to five following the earlier triumphs at the Series by Vitaly Lunkin, Ville Wahlbeck, and John Paul Kelly.
Alenius took down event 26, the $1,500 limit hold’em event for $197,488, while de Wolfe won event 27, the $5,000 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better for $246,616, joining Gavin Griffin on the triple crown roll of honour, having already secured a World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour title.
De Wolfe’s final table was of particular interest, hosting as it did, Frenchman Anthony Lellouche, Irishman Andy Black, and Russian Alexander Kravchenko while Alenius’ also faced Dutchman Dominik Kulicki.
