European Masters of Poker Prague Begins TodayEMOP Hits Prague for Third Instalment |

The European Masters of Poker (EMOP) heads to the Spearmint Casino in Prague today for its third instalment. The €1,100 buy-in event will take place over five days including two starting days. 300 players is the anticipated figure, which would mean an estimated prize pool of €300,000.
To add some extra spice to the mix, the event will also see a leader board competition where the temptation of extra prizes outside of the regular prize pool should heat things up further. Five percent is taken from each tournament’s prize pool and put into the separate leader board prize pool, and when the event is over, the top 15 overall players will get a slice, with the first prize estimated to be €25,000. The winner will also receive a watch worth €10,000 if he/she has earned 25,000 VIP points between Jan. 1 2009 and the start of the last tournament.
A similar turn out is expected in Prague as that of April’s stop — Varna, Bulgaria — where 311 players entered and Reuven Dayan from Israel took home the top prize of €77,750. After Prague the EMOP heads to Barcelona, Spain, where the next battle will take place from Jul. 29 to Aug. 1.
