The BorgataFor those people on the East Coast who can’t afford and/or take the time to fly out to Las Vegas for the World Series, the Borgata in Atlantic City is more than happy to accommodate with its own premiere poker event.

The main event for the Borgata Summer Poker Open, a $3,200 no-limit hold’em tournament, starts Sunday at 11 a.m. The Borgata has guaranteed a $1 million prize pool for the event. As it is scheduled, the winner will be crowned on Tuesday.

“The structure is awesome,” said poker pro and New Jersey resident Joey Brooks, according to a press release. “I think a lot of players will come back from Vegas to play, so the field will be tougher than it’s been the last two weeks. You can’t win it on day one, you have to be patient and realize how deep the stacks are and how deep the field is.”

The 24-day tournament series has featured a variety of events, including tournaments in pot-limit Omaha, stud, a heads-up tourney, and even events specifically for women and seniors. This week, the Borgata will also host a $1,080 H.O.S.E. tournament and a $3,200 double-elimination heads-up tourney.

Players can register for the events at the Borgata.
