Centrebet, the Australian bookmaker and online gaming operator, yesterday released a market update for its year end June 2009 financials.

The company said European poker revenue would be $3.8 million, down by 17 percent, and this represented 6 percent of total revenue.

Total revenue for Centrebet which includes sports betting, casino, and games would be $66.2 million, up six percent and driven by the growth in the Australian online market .

European revenue (excluding poker) will come in flat on full year 2008 figures at $26.1 million. This represents 39 percent of total revenue. The company said European wagering revenue declined due to a lower win rate, particularly in non‐core European markets, though this was off‐set by growth in casino revenues.

Centrebet Managing Director, Con Kafataris said, “We expect the overall industry to show strong growth over the medium term and Centrebet is well positioned to maximise our share of that growth through customer focused product offerings, targeted marketing investment and disciplined risk and cost management.”

First half 2009 results also showed a significant decline in poker revenue for the Aussie bookie.
