Tournament players who want to play in a major event near the equator should start booking their tickets to Santo Domingo because that's where the Majestic Poker Tour (MPT), kicks off starting next month.

The MPT is a five tournament series that takes place throughout Latin America. Each tournament will hand out at least one seat to the World Series of Poker's main event. All the events are re-buy tournaments.

The first of the five tournaments takes place at the Avda George Washington Hotel in Santo Domingo Feb. 16 to 18. The buy-in is $2,100 for $10,000 in chips and re-buys are $1,000 for $5,000 in chips.

From March 24 to March 26, the MPT touches down at the Gran Casino Margarita in Venezuela. The buy-in for this event is 4.4 million bolivars, which is approximately $2,250 USD. Re-buys are 2 million bolivars (or about $930 USD for 2.5 million in chips). Players start with 5 million in chips, but blinds start at 100,000 and 200,000.

The next month the tour heads to Lima, Peru from April 21 to 24. The tournament takes place at the JW Marriott Lima. A thousand American dollars gets $1,500 in tournament chips. Re-buys cost $500 USD for $750 in tournament chips.

In Panama City, the MPT sets up at the Radisson Decapolis Hotel from May 26 to May 27. The buy-in is $1,050 USD for $5,000 in tournament chips and re-buys cost $500 for $2,500 in tournament chips.

For the last stop, it's back to the Gran Casino Margarita in Venezuela form June 15 to June 18. For the last event, the buy-in is 9.6 million bolivars (about $4,500 USD), with re-buys costing 2 million bolivars ($930 USD) for 2.5 million in tournament chips.

Each tournament will give out as many seats as possible to the WSOP main event that takes place at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this summer.
