The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) XIII has officially come to a close with an exciting weekend that featured not only the Ante Up For Africa event, but the two biggest no-limit hold’em tournaments of the series.
The AUFA event was hosted by actor Don Cheadle and raised nearly $50,000 in tournament fees. Keeping with the tournament’s name, antes were introduced in the structure from the very beginning of the tournament.
Billy Kopp, a deep finisher in this year’s WSOP main event, bounced back easily for his first FTOPS win, taking down event No. 21 for nearly $40,000. In the two-day, $2,500 event, Jake Toole came back to defeat Full Tilt pro Brian Hastings for the biggest prize of the tournament.
In the main event, Matthew “Poligraph” Waxman outlasted notables such as Lauren Kling, James Obst, Kameron McRay, and runner-up Inoriisss for the title. It was Waxman’s second FTOPS title, after winning event no. 15 in FTOPS XII. He also made the final table of event no. 56 at this year’s WSOP.
