PKR.com yesterday announced its sponsorship of the PKR Heads-Up Grand Slam in London from Oct. 8 to 10.
The $350,000 prize pool event has $30,000 added by PKR and will feature some if poker’s brightest lights including Tom Dwan, Luke Schwartz, Andrew Feldman, Sammy George, Roland De Wolfe, Annette Obrestad, JC Tran, Nam Le, Vicky Coren, and Roberto Romanello.
Thirty-two players will take to the felt vying for the $100,000 first prize and commentator Jesse May will make the seat draw live on PKR.com and MatchroomPoker.com on Monday Sept.7.
Matchroom Sport boss Eddie Hearn, was excited at the thought of the event. “We have been looking at creating a heads-up event for a while now and I’m excited that we have the formula just right. Shows such as the NBC Heads-Up Championship have attracted huge ratings and we expect this event to continue that trend. There will be a plethora of poker talent gathering in London in October and the names that have already committed look to provide a breathtaking line up.”
